Four-Armed Avalokiteshvara Meditation

Gonsar Tulku Rinpoche

This year we will consecrate the first two weeks of the holy Saga Dawa month for the practice of Four-Armed Avalokiteshvara.

Some older members may remember that from the time of Ven. Geshe Rabten Rinpoche we used to engage in the Avalokiteshvara practice during a week in the Saga Dawa month. This good tradition was continued for many years, until in the year 2001 the Ven. Gonsar Rinpoche has started to give the precious teaching-transmission of the Great Exposition of the Graduated Path to Enlightenment (Lamrim Chenmo) during the whole month of Saga Dawa each year, which was completed after twelve years. During this time we also had the fortune to receive the complete reading transmissions of all the eight great Lamrim teachings from Ven. Geshe Buga. Then Ven. Panglung Rinpoche has continued this precious activity through starting the reading transmission of the entire works of master Je Tsongkhapa and his two chief disciples.

Due to the present pandemic however, all these transmission activities had to be stopped temporarily. Hence, for this year the Ven. Gonsar Rinpoche has decided to consecrate this holy month again for a retreat of Avalokiteshvara, practicing the longer and shorter Sadhanas along with the recitation of the six-syllable Mantra OM MANI PADME HUNG, trying to complete ten times 100.000 Mantras.

Schedule:

Starting from Thursday 13th until 27th of May 2021, every day we will do three sessions, at 9:30, 14:30 as well as 19:30 respectively.

The retreat will take place in the Rabten Choeling temple.

Due to the pandemic and also observing federal and cantonal regulations, visitors are not allowed in the temple. Access is restricted to Rabten Choeling monks, nuns and resident students!
